I Do vs. I Don’t
Now THAT was an iconic wedding scene right?!
I mean it didn’t last long in the movie The Princess Bride, but hey, that kinda sorta maybe mirrors relationships in 2018, no?
According to a recent Angus Reid poll, most Canadians would rather not get married. The attitude of marriage has changed dramatically over the years and with all the costs involved for the big day and everything that comes before and after that joyous occasion, is it really that necessary?
I’m a pretty old school kinda guy who even went as far as getting my then girlfriend a promise ring, and formally asking for her hand in marriage, but results from the latest poll suggest that over 50% of Canadians are just not convinced they should be giving the institution of marriage much thought, namely because of all the expense, stress, and family drama that may or may not be attached to “the big day” which typically flies by in the blink of an eye.
Which side of the steeple are you?
Is marriage still a big deal in 2018?
