The calendar may say July 2nd, but the Canadian feelings continue.
11am – 12:43pm: Okanagan Dodge (2690 Highway 97)
In the first 103 minutes since Canada turned the big 1-5-2, the stereotypical niceties of Canadians reared their friendly head!
First, Jerry described how if he won the Jeep, that he would donate it to local charity JoeAnna’s House, a home-away-from-home to keep families together when they receive life-saving specialist care at Kelowna General Hospital. How wonderfully Canadian is that!?
Later, Martin walked up to my table and entered the contest. Ordinarily, this would be unremarkable, but Martin underwent SPINE SURGERY seven weeks ago! He showed me the scar, it’s insane! He had eleven vertibrae unfused! He’s an inch taller! And it makes me grateful that we live in a country where having a life-saving surgery like Martin’s doesn’t mean you’re indebted hundreds of thousands of dollars.
