11am – 12:43pm: Habitat for Humaity ReStore (1793 Ross Road, West Kelowna)
An important distinction that I needed to make today was the fact we have TWO ReStores in the Kelowna area; there’s one along Enterprise, and there’s one on the west side!  These places are phenomenal for home improvement!  Furniture, Lighting, Plumbing, Electronics, and more; it’s like a big box store, but way way less impact on the budget!  All of the items are donated by the public, and Home Depot is a major sponsor as well.  I turned a whole new collection of westsiders onto the Jeep contest, as there were scores of people just heading in for a regular days shopping!
When I first moved to Kelowna, I visited ReStore in search of a bed frame. I found one, plus a corner lamp, a coffee table, and a Bush “Sixteen Stone” CD!

3 – 4:43pm: Canadian Jewelry Exchange (K.L.O. & Tutt Rd)
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch accompanied me to CJEX this afternoon, and therefore I brought the Beach Radio tent too.  Since the store is just up from KLO, it served as a nice beacon to those who were unfamiliar with the location.  One thing I learned from being at CJEX was that there are so many “Just Because” reasons to shop for a ring; it doesn’t just have to be wedding/engagement/anniversary/grad/birthday.  It’s a beautiful jewelry shop with very friendly staff.
Since CJEX is in the heart of Pandosy Village, so many contest goers were just at other businesses, including Cheryl, who had just gotten her toenails done.  I told her that if she could pick up her entry ballot with her toes, I would showcase them in this blog!
I was also visited by my pal Stewart from the city parking patrol. He’s so friendly, he even escorted a nearby business owner over to the Jeep so she could enter before 4:43! That’s service!
