Corey’s “Free Ride” Blog: Double Corey

Today is all about locomotion (not the song, the act of moving from one place to another).

11am – 12:43pm: Kelowna Cycle (2949 Pandosy St.)
Did you know that electric bikes are all the rage!? And they don’t do all the work for you, some have a motor drive system, which assists you as you pedal! So if you are trying to bike up Dilworth Mountain, you could use some help to get up there without dying.  And honestly, you shouldn’t die.  I like you, I feel we’ve gotten to know each other well these past few sentences.
Kelowna Cycle has some awesome bikes, made by Benno.  Benno is a brand, started by the founder of the Electra brand of bike.  His name is Benno, and his picture is on the info tag on each handlebar.  It doesn’t say what his first name is, so I’ll just call him Corey.
Like any good cycle shop, Kelowna Cycle has an espresso machine.  Coffee and bicycles go together like peanut butter and jam.  It’s a culture, and I love it.  When you shop for a bike, come to Kelowna Cycle, say hello to Corey (not me, not the founder of Benno, but also awesome), have a coffee.

3 – 4:43pm: Kelowna Cruises (230 Queensway)
Continuing with locomotion, we move to aqua transport; specifically boats (obviously).  Kelowna Cruises has such a great set-up.  Right downtown along the water, catching all the tourists eyes that want to go on a tour of Okanagan Lake.  But it’s also a perfect outing for a date night, or a corporate party, maybe a dinner cruise?  Lots of reasons to get on a boat.
I brought out the tent because I was afraid of getting rained on, and there is no place to hide.  Thankfully no rain, but I did get extra attention. It’s almost comical how easily people will dismiss a vehicle parked on the grass that says WIN THIS RIDE on it. Many people walk right on by and don’t even pay attention.  So that’s where I step in and ask if they want to win MY Jeep.  I found that people respond more inquisitively when its presented to them as if I am just giving away my own car.  Which I feel like I am.  I will miss this Jeep.  I have until August 11 to soak up all the good times.  You have until August 8 to enter the contest!!
