Corey’s “Free Ride” Blog: The Big Debut

Only 3 weeks to go before we find out who wins the new Jeep Wrangler Sahara!  But that also means 24 more stops to make!

11am – 12:43pm: Habitat for Humanity ReStore (2092 Enterprise Way)
Stop number 1 today is at the ReStore in Kelowna.  It amazes me how much is in these stores, and how inexpensive everything is!
I can’t say enough, if you’re doing a renovation or furnishing an office, or looking for vintage music even, go to ReStore!
Sarah picked up a big cage for transporting chickens for ten bucks, Jeff grabbed some golf clubs, bag and pull cart for fifteen!  That’s insane!  And proceeds go to the Habitat for Humanity charity, so you’re making a difference too.
This place is huge too.  Lot’s of contest goers today were remarking how they never knew how big the ReStore was, so I think we opened a lot of eyes this morning!

3 – 4:43pm: MATCH Eatery & Public House (1300 Water St)
My second stop of the day is my third and last at MATCH. Today, I parked myself out on the street, facing Prospera Place, the venue for Rock the Lake, and more importantly, the Jeep giveaway!
I also debuted a Beach Radio beach umbrella at my table.  It’s a lot more portable than the large 10′ x 10′ tent that I had with me at ReStore, and a billion times lighter.  While it wasn’t designed for the pole stand I brought with me, it worked pretty well!  A few tweaks and maybe it will become a full time accessory!  Regardless, it helped keep me dry when a short rain cell passed overhead around 4:00.  I was driving the Jeep around with the Freedom Top off, so I had to do a quick scramble to pop that back on, but it’s so lightweight and second nature to me, I had the roof on in a minute.  But it was the first time the interior got a minor sprinkle of rain.  It’s a Jeep, what do you expect!
