Structure Fire
Officials say no one was home at the time of a structure fire in Kelowna this morning.
“Just before 8 a.m.,Kelowna Fire Dispatch received a 911 call reporting black smoke coming from a detached garage in the 300 block of Mills Road,” stated Platoon Captain Dennis Miller.
“On scene, the first arriving officer confirmed a working fire with flames and smoke from a detached garage in the rear of the residence.”
Miller said the crews performed an offensive interior attack, which contained the fire to the detached structure.
“The fire crews completed overhaul and checked for any extension. No occupants were home at the time of the fire.”
Miller added the cause is not suspicious and under investigation.
Three engines, a command unit, rescue truck along with 14 fire personnel were on scene to fight the fire along with assistance from RCMP, BCAS and Fortis Electrical.
