Local fire department holds annual fundraiser

North Westside residents are being asked to support their local fire department.

The annual North Westside Fire Rescue Barbecue fundraiser is on Saturday, August 10 from 2 to 8 p.m. in the amenities area of La Casa Cottage Resort, 6808 Westside Road.

For $12, choose a Burger, Smokey or Veggi-burger with a salad and a drink.

Hot dogs for children are free and there’s also pop, water and ice-cream available.

The Central Okangan Regional District said it will be an action packed event with music and entertainment, a live auction, an auction for children, a 50-50 draw and plenty of door prizes.

Net-proceeds go to support the North Westside Firefighters Society which has purchased over $100,000 in life saving fire rescue equipment from past fundraising barbecues.
