Cyclist rushed to hospital after Kelowna crash

A serious collision involving a semi tractor trailer unit and a cyclist has prompted a portion of Dilworth Drive to be closed to allow police to investigate.

On August 12 at 1:38 p.m., Kelowna RCMP received a report of a cyclist involved collision on Dilworth Drive near the major intersection of Harvey Avenue.

The Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic Section is on scene conducting their investigation into the circumstances of the injury crash.

Traffic services investigators have blocked a portion of Dilworth Drive in order to conduct their examination of the scene.

Although traffic along Harvey Avenue may be impacted, all lanes of Harvey Avenue remain open at this time.

“The cyclist has been rushed to hospital,” states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. “The cyclist’s current condition is not known at this time.”

Motorists are urged to monitor Drive BC for updates on the closure of Dilworth Drive.
