Hotel ordered to close

Lake Country council has given the owner of the Airport Inn 45 days to board up the place and fence it off.

It has repeatedly failed inspections, but the owner still has long term tenants, despite not having an occupancy permit.

If the work isn’t done in 45 days, the district will do it and send him the bill.

The owner says he will appeal the order.
