Search suspended for missing man
Search and rescue crews, along with RCMP in the air, have scoured over 4,000 square kilometres east of Kelowna, but there’s still no sign of a missing Kelowna man.
Seventy-four-year-old Gordon Solloway went out hunting to the James Lake area last Thursday and has not been seen since.
“Search and rescue teams from Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon, along with CASARA fixed wing aircraft, the RCMP helicopter and Mr. Solloway’s family and friends have searched around 4,200 square km east of Kelowna,” a release from Central Okanagan Search and Rescue said.
“The search area expanded from Goudie Road/James Lake to include the area around Big White and McCullough Lake recreational area. With help from VSAR (Vernon) and PenSAR (Penticton) it eventually covered the area between Lavington and Penticton and over to Beaverdell,” the release added.
The search has now been suspended by RCMP, and will resume if additional information is received.
