Carlton Cards is closing all 254 of its stores in North America over the next few weeks, including the one at the Vernon’s Village Green Centre and another on Harvey Avenue in Kelowna.
Seventy-six of the sites are in Canada, with another 178 in the U.S.
The Schurman Retail Group says it’s been unable to fit into today’s shopping environment.
About 1,400 workers will be impacted by the closures over the next four to six weeks.
Schurman told CTV News the closures will not affect the publishing of Carlton Cards or their sale in other stores which are handled by a separate company.
The Carlton Cards online store will continue to operate.
