UPDATE Highway 1 reopened in Shuswap

Drive BC says the highway has reopened.

There is traffic control in the area.

Drive BC says Highway 1 is closed 1 km east of Chase due to avalanche danger.

Only emergency vehicles are being allowed access.

“Highway is closed East of #ChaseBC at the bottom of Chase Hill for slope assessment and debris on the road,” said Drive BC.

Another update on the closure is expected after 4 p.m.
