Sunday’s Super Bowl combatants have something in common… San Francisco’s original logo featured a gun-shooting gold prospector (who was either excited that he found gold, or upset that he did not!). The Chiefs franchise actually originated in Dallas, Texas, and were nicknamed the Texas. Ironically, their original logo featured a gun-shooting cowboy (who definitely looks excited, probably just scored a touchdown). Maybe it was legal to carry firearms on the gridiron in the early 1960s?
