City of Kamloops to close recreational facilities, museum

KAMLOOPS – The City of Kamloops is shutting down recreational facilities in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
At a news conference Monday afternoon (Mar. 16), Mayor Ken Christian announced the facilities will be closed as of 11:59 p.m. Monday.

Those include:
- Sandman Centre
- McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre
- Tournament Capital Centre
- Kamloops Museum and Archives
Christian says the City is also consulting with the province about the upcoming referendum into borrowing for the Kamloops Centre for the Arts, slated for April 4.
Earlier today, the City announced it is activating its Emergency Operations Centre as a further COVID-19 response.
