Vernon realtor takes leadership role during ‘challenging’ time
A Vernon realtor is the new president of the Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board.
Kim Heizmann will lead a board that represents 1,300 realtors and 89 real estate offices in the region spanning from Peachland to Revelstoke.
Heizmann takes over the position from Michael Loewen of Kelowna.
“It is an interesting time to step into such a position, to say the least. But through my past experiences on the board and my dedication to the industry, I am more than ready to lead during this challenging time,” said Heizmann.
“I look forward to playing an active role – alongside my fellow directors – in OMREB’s continued delivery of strong advocacy, professional development and exciting new technology and tools that will help our members continue to serve local real estate consumers responsibly within the essential services guidelines.”
Heizmann brings over 13 years of being in the industry to the board table, as well as extensive experience and knowledge having served as a board member since 2015 and on various committees and taskforces.
Dean Desrosiers succeeds Heizmann in the role of vice president. In addition to Heizmann, Desrosiers, and past president Loewen, the full 2020/2021 OMREB Board of Directors include Maria Besso, Don Gagnon, Brad Marsh, Joe Pearson, Jerry Redman, Blake Roberts, Karen Singbeil and Bob Wood.
