2 charged with attempted murder
Two men have been charged with attempted murder after they allegedly attacked a homeless man and left him severely injured in a downtown Kelowna alleyway in early March.
On Mar. 2, just after 2:45 a.m., members of the Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of an assault on the 200 block of Lawrence Avenue.
“When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim suffering from serious injuries sustained during the alleged attack,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy, Kelowna RCMP spokesperson. “He was transported to hospital where he received medical treatment.”
Noseworthy said Devin Comerford, 19, and Zackary Gaubert, 21, were taken into police custody last week.
“They have now been charged with attempted murder. Both men have been released by the courts on significant conditions for future court dates.”
Noseworthy said the investigation remains active and anyone with information about the crime can contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300. Or remain completely anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net.
