Seven new COVID-19 cases in B.C. to close out the week

The B.C. health ministry is reporting seven new cases of COVID-19 Friday (June 19).
In a news release, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says today’s added cases bring the total to 2,790 since the pandemic began in B.C.
There are no new cases in the Interior Health region.
The cases are distributed through the province as follows:
- 952 (Vancouver Coastal)
- 1,446 (Fraser Health)
- 130 (Vancouver Island)
- 197 (Interior Health)
- 65 (Northern Health)
Dr. Henry reports 178 active cases in the province, with 11 people in hospital including six in intensive or critical care.
There are no new deaths due to COVID-19, with the provincial death toll at 168.
The total of those considered fully recovered is 2,444, or 88 per cent.
There are no new outbreaks, either in the community or in the healthcare system.
