Holland in 2020 class for Hockey Hall of Fame
Ken Holland is among the 2020 class of inductees for the Hockey Hall of Fame.
The Vernon native and current general manager of the Edmonton Oilers will be inducted in the builder category.
Holland, 64, spent 22 seasons as the general manager of the Red Wings from 1997-2019, winning the Stanley Cup four times (1997, 1998, 2002, 2008). During his tenure in Detroit his team won more combined regular-season and playoff games (1,044) than any other NHL team.
“I am incredibly humbled by this honor,” Holland told NHL.com. “I am in this game because I loved it as a young man and I am happy to have been able to stay in the game.”
Five players were named to this year’s class: Jarome Iginla, Marian Hossa, Kevin Lowe, Kim St-Pierre and Doug Wilson.
The newest inductees were determined by a panel of 18 voters.
