Traffic dispute leads to bear spray attack
A man is facing potential charges of spraying bear spray on another motorist over a traffic incident.
Lake Country RCMP received a complaint of an assault with a weapon around 10:30 p.m. Saturday (July 4).
“The victim stated that he had witnessed a vehicle driving erratically in Lake Country and followed it. The suspect vehicle stopped on Reiswig Road in Lake Country. A man got out, ran over to the victim’s vehicle and sprayed what is believed to be bear mace through the open passenger window. The vehicle then fled the scene,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy, media relations officer.
RCMP has arrested a 23-year-old Lake Country man who has been released on conditions for a future court date. The search continues for a second man believed to have been involved.
“This case highlights the importance of calling police if you think there’s a danger to your community,” said Noseworthy. “You never know who you’re dealing with or the potential danger you may face.”
