Crews knock down fire in woods

The Kelowna Fire Department received numerous 911 calls around 7:45 p.m. Friday, reporting smoke coming from an area in Mission Creek Regional Park close to Hall Road.
The first arriving officer found a rank 2 to 3 fire burning in the woods, approximately 60′ x 80′ in size and 100 meters into the park off the roadway.
The fire was quickly knocked down by crews. It was contained, extinguished and the perimeter was guarded.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
Kelowna Fire responded with 2 engines, a command vehicle, 2 bush trucks and a water tender along with 13 personnel to the incident.
