UPDATE Highway reopens; road still icy

Kelowna RCMP say the collisions have been cleared from Highway 33.
“The vehicles that had slid off the road and collided on Highway 33 have been cleared and road is reopened. Conditions are still extremely icy, and police advise motorists should slow down and drive to weather conditions,” said RCMP Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy.

Kelowna RCMP is currently on Highway 33 near Idabel Lake area where the road has been shut down due to weather.
RCMP is notifying the public to remain away from the highway until the road is reopened. Conditions are extremely icy, and numerous vehicles have slid off the road or collided.
Motorists are advised that travel past Idabel Lake area is not currently possible.
Information regarding the severity of the collisions is not known at this time.
