B.C. COVID update: 998 new cases
No new records, but COVID-19 case numbers remain high in B.C.
The province is reporting 998 new cases since Saturday (two days), with 95 percent of those in the Fraser (737) and Vancouver Coastal (210) health regions.
There are 28 new cases in Interior Health (IH), according to Dr. Bonnie Henry.
IH said there ae 128 active cases, with one person in hospital.
Elsewhere, there are 12 new cases in Island Health and 11 in Northern Health.
There was 536 new cases between Saturday and Sunday and 462 from Sunday to Monday.
The number of active cases provincially is 4,891, with 133 people in hospital and 43 in critical or intensive care.
There has been five more COVID-related deaths for a total of 281.
Currently 9,179 people are under active monitoring and 13,425 have recovered from the virus.
There are two new health care outbreaks, raising the number of active outbreaks to 37.
