Big White Resort opens Nov. 19
Thanks to a beautiful snowfall over the weekend, Big White Ski Resort will open for season pass holders only Thursday, Nov. 19 to Sunday, Nov. 22.
The resort will open for day ticket visitors on Monday, Nov. 23 – three days earlier than the scheduled opening date of Nov. 26.
“The one big thing of working for a family company is decisions get made quickly,” Michael J. Ballingall, senior vice president at Big White Ski Resort Ltd, said. “We had enough snow over the weekend and it’s always been our promise to open as soon as snow permits. Therefore, we’re opening with safety protocols in place for COVID-19 on Thursday, November 19.”
Over the past week, the resort received 63 cm of new snow, bringing our alpine base to 60 cm.
Happy Valley Car Park will be the only available day parking facility. Limited food and beverages will be available. The outdoor washroom in the Village Centre will be available as will limited indoor facilities.
Masks or face coverings are mandatory in all buildings, lift lines, loading and unloading lifts.
Be sure to pack multiple masks or face coverings, as they can get wet and freeze while outdoors and become uncomfortable. The resort will have mask dispensers situated throughout the are and reusable masks for purchase at retail stores.
You are requested to space yourself in line to a minimum of six feet and not visit the resort if you are feeling ill. The resort asks you to carpool when and where you can, and that you remain in your social bubble while at the resort.
Pre-Season Season Passes will remain on sale until close of business Thursday, Nov. 26.
