West Kelowna Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at 4:30 this morning (Dec. 22) in the 900 block of Lloyd Jones Drive.
“Responding crews did a great job getting a quick knock down on a fully involved detached garage fire, including two vehicles, to prevent it from extending into the nearby residence. The residents were able to get out safely and shelter at a nearby neighbours while crews conducted firefighting operations on scene,” said Chad Gartrell, assistant fire chief.
Investigators are still looking into the cause. The preliminary investigation, due to the extent of the damage, has the cause as undetermined but not suspicious in nature.
Also on hand for the incident was RCMP, BC Ambulance Service, Fortis Gas and Hydro.
