Stolen vehicle used in attempted theft at business
Two men are facing charges after allegedly using a stolen truck to try and steal equipment from a Kelowna business.
RCMP responded to a compound in the 100-block of Pinto Road at 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 1, where two men were said to be attempting to steal a Bobcat.
Officers flooded the area and arrested one man at the scene. A second man fled on foot, but was located and arrested later after a police dog services team attended the scene later.
“The pickup, and the trailer that were used in this theft were stolen a few days before this incident,” Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy, stated. “Our officers did an excellent job in stopping this theft and getting both of these men in custody.”
Michael Grant, 38, and Kaare Vaagen, 46, were held in custody and brought before the court.
The BC Prosecution Service has approved charges of break and enter, theft, uttering threats and obstruction against Michael Grant.
Kaare Vaagen is facing charges of theft of vehicle and possession of stolen property.
