UPDATE: Man shot in downtown Kelowna
UPDATE 1:45 p.m.
RCMP is investigating after a man was shot in downtown Kelowna this afternoon.
Just after 12:30 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of numerous shots being fired in the 1500-block of Harvey Avenue.
“Frontline officers flooded the area and located a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in a parking lot at that location. He was transported to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services for medical treatment. His condition is not known at this time,” Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy, said.
Witnesses reported a man fleeing the scene in a grey or silver car. A short time later, a matching vehicle was located burning on Longhill Road in Kelowna.
Both scenes have been secured by RCMP who are in the process of gathering physical evidence and locating witnesses.

“Details are unknown at this time. RCMP are asking that the public remain away from the area for safety reasons, and to allow our officers to deal with the scene,” Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy, said.
