Kelowna RCMP announce strategic plan
The Kelowna RCMP has announced its four-year strategic plan.
The plan outlines priorities for 2021 to 2024, and explains how police intend to work towards making Kelowna an even safer community.
“The strategic plan was created with input from our citizens, the Kelowna City Council, community partners, and analytical data. It focuses on where we can make measurable differences in public safety, while maintaining our critically important policing services,” Supt. Kara Triance said.
RCMP say they will:
- increase the sense of safety in our public spaces;
- decrease the risk of property crime;
- earn the trust of more citizens that have experienced persons crime.
Triance said they recognize the issues are intrinsically complex and linked to societal conditions.
“That’s why we’ve made our community partners, and our citizens such a vital part of our plan for the next four years. By strengthening our relationship with the people we serve, we are committing to the promise that we are Here to Listen, Here to Serve,” she said.
Triance asks people to follow the Kelowna RCMP Facebook and Twitter accounts (Kelowna RCMP/ GRC de Kelowna) over the next four weeks as they more fully outline what their goals for the next four years will entail.
