COVID cases up for fourth straight day in B.C.
B.C. is reporting 54 new cases of COVID-19 and one additional death in the Vancouver Coastal Health region.
It’s the fourth straight day of increased new cases after 41 on Wednesday, 33 on Tuesday and 30 on Monday.
The province has now recorded 1,761 deaths linked to the virus.
There are currently 650 active cases in B.C with 63 people in hospital, including 12 in intensive care.
Interior Health has 20 new cases and 161 active cases.
Other new/active cases include:
* 19 new cases in Fraser Health
* Total active cases: 168
* nine new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health
* Total active cases: 258
* one new case in Northern Health
* Total active cases: 28
* five new cases in Island Health
* Total active cases: 29
* no new cases of people who reside outside of Canada
* Total active cases: six
Nearly 80 per cent of residents aged 12 and up have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 48.6 per cent have received their second dose.
