COVID-19 cases still rising
B.C. is reporting 89 new COVID-19 cases today, the highest total in more than a month.
Interior Health has the most new cases among the five health regions with 37, and has the second most active cases with 244.
There’s been no new deaths since Wednesday, with the total still at 1,763.
As of Thursday, 56.9 per cent of all eligible B.C. residents (12 and older) are now fully vaccinated (two doses), while 80.2 per cent have had one dose with over 6.3 million vaccine doses administered.
The new/active cases include:
* 30 new cases in Fraser Health
* Total active cases: 219
* 18 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health
* Total active cases: 263
* 37 new cases in Interior Health
* Total active cases: 244
* one new case in Northern Health
* Total active cases: 31
* three new cases in Island Health
* Total active cases: 18
* no new cases of people who reside outside of Canada
* Total active cases: six
There are currently 781 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, with 53 individuals in hospital and 15 in intensive care.
