COVID-19 cases keep rising in B.C., and in Interior Health
COVID-19 cases in B.C. continue their upward trend.
The province reported 112 new cases on Friday, the highest since June 18.
Interior Health continues to lead the five health regions in new cases with 59 (52.6 per cent), and now has the most active cases in the province with 256.
Four more people have died from the virus, raising the total to 1,767.
There are 603 active cases in the province with 46 people in hospital and 17 in intensive care.
The new/active cases include:
* 30 new cases in Fraser Health
* Total active cases: 199
* 15 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health
* Total active cases: 110
* 59 new cases in Interior Health
* Total active cases: 256
* three new cases in Northern Health
* Total active cases: 10
* five new cases in Island Health
* Total active cases: 22
* no new cases of people who reside outside of Canada
* Total active cases: six
Over 6.4 million COVID vaccines have been administered in B.C.
To date, 80.3 per cent (3,723,154) of eligible people 12 and older have had one dose and 58.1 per cent (2,692,024) have had two doses.
In addition, 81.3 per cent (3,517,529) of all eligible adults have had one shot and 61.4 per cent (2,654,367) are fully vaccinated.
