New roundabout ready to open in West Kelowna
Construction of the new roundabout in West Kelowna at Gellatly and Carrington Roads is almost complete and the intersection is set to re-open to motorists on Thursday, July 29 at approximately 6 p.m.
Final landscaping work will continue over the next several weeks with minimal impacts to traffic.
The $1.32 million Gellatly-Carrington Roundabout Project also includes a three-metre-wide, paved multi-use path between Witt and Boucherie Roads, which is scheduled for completion in September.
“This path will create a key connection between Westbank Centre and the waterfront, and includes minor in-stream storm work improvements to Smith Creek,” a city news release stated.
The city is thanking residents and businesses for their patience during construction.
