Rapid tests kits available for all adults at B.C. pharmacies
The provincial program offering rapid COVID-19 test kits through participating pharmacies is now open to all adults in B.C.
The province has lowered the age requirement to access the kits, which contain five rapid antigen tests, to residents age 18 and older.
The kits are being distributed free of charge through select pharmacies. People must provide the pharmacist with their personal health number to get the kit, which can be accessed once every 28 days.
People can pick up kits on behalf of another person, though they must be able to provide that individual’s name, date of birth and personal health number in order to access the kit.
Residents are reminded to pick up the kits when they are healthy, and to only use the tests when they have symptoms of COVID-19.
The more than 1,300 participating pharmacies have already distributed over 2.7-million tests to British Columbians across the province.
