Weekly COVID-19 report shows 523 cases, eight deaths in Interior

British Columbia’s weekly COVID-19 report shows cases and deaths have risen in the Interior.
The report, which consists of data between April 3 and 9, shows there were 523 new cases of COVID-19, 34 hospitalizations, and eight deaths linked to the virus in the Interior.
The figures reflect an increase in both new cases and deaths compared to the week before, which were reported at 458 and five, respectively.
The number of hospital admissions in the Interior did decrease from the 49 the week prior.
B.C., as a whole, had figures that were slightly higher in the past week than the week before.
There were 1,770 new cases (up from 1,703), 233 hospital admissions (up from 230) and 23 deaths (up from 20) due to COVID-19 between April 3 and 9.
