Trunk sale set to go in Kelowna Saturday
More than 150 people will be selling goods at the Trunk Sale in Kelowna on Saturday, May 28.
The garage sale-style event will see sellers park their vehicles and sell gently used items out of their trunks at the Okanagan College Kelowna Campus parking lot 17, which is located next to the Student Residence Buildings off West Campus Rd.
Organized by the Regional District Waste Reduction Office, the Trunk Sale is meant to promote reuse and recycling by ensuring perfectly good items and materials do not end up in the landfill.
Charitable organizations will attend the sale towards the end of the event for sellers who wish to donate any unsold items.
This will be the 18th Trunk Sale hosted by the Regional District of Central Okanagan, which runs the event biannually in May and September.
There will be no ATMs on site, and visitors are advised to pick up cash before going to the event.
There will be limited parking, and the RDCO recommends people carpool or take alternative transportation. Traffic control measures will be in place at the site.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon May 28, rain or shine.
