Okanagan resident collects $500,000 lottery win

A Kelowna resident is planning to live it up a bit more after winning $500,000 in a Lotto Max Extra draw.

Bryon Treasure — who enjoys road trips to Vancouver in his spare time — was at a friend’s house when he scanned his ticket on BCLC’s Lotto! App and was shocked to find out he had won that much money.

“Holy,” he exclaimed when he won. “I told my girlfriend first and she didn’t believe me.”

Treasure has plans to indulge on an extra nice hotel room during his next trip to Vancouver and looks forward to buying a home in the near future, thanks to his winnings.

“I was thinking about my kids’ future when I bought the ticket and the ability to purchase a home,” he remarked. “I was very happy!”

Treasure purchased his ticket for the Sept. 16 Extra draw at the Canco on Highway 33 East in Kelowna.
