New council to be sworn in November 7

Kelowna’s new mayor and city council will officially start their duties next week.

An inauguration ceremony for Mayor Tom Dyas and the eight councillors will take place at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Water Street starting at 7 p.m. on Nov. 7.

The one-hour ceremony and meeting is open to the public and will be livestreamed on the City’s website at kelowna.ca/council.

Judge Andrew Tam will administer the oath of office for Dyas and councillors Ron Cannan, Maxine DeHart, Charlie Hodge, Gord Lovegrove, Mohini Singh, Luke Stack, Rick Webber and Loyal Wooldridge.

Council’s first regular meeting will be on Monday, Nov. 14 followed by the first public hearing on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
