Seven-vehicle crash closes road in Kelowna
Kelowna RCMP has been on the scene of several crashes in the new snow today, and is reminding drivers to use extra caution on the roads.
“The snow has caused several accidents and extreme slippery conditions, particularly when going up or down a hill,” Ryan Watters, an RCMP communications advisor, said.
In Glenmore, an accident involving seven vehicles has closed Begbie Road which has also affected the surrounding streets. RCMP officers are on scene helping to divert traffic and are asking motorists to stay away from the area, and if possible, to stay at home.
“Without good winter tires, travelling the roads today will be very challenging and drivers need to use extreme caution,” Watters said.
RCMP have not said if any injuries resulted from the Glenmore incident.
“If you absolutely need to drive keep your distance, brush the snow off your windows to give you clear vision and please slow down giving yourself extra time to get to your destination,” Watters added.
