Communicable disease outbreaks in Kelowna care facilities

Interior Health is reporting two new communicable disease outbreaks at seniors facilities in Kelowna.
The health authority said a respiratory infection outbreak was declared at the Three Links Manor long-term care facility on Monday, Nov. 28. The outbreak involves the entire facility.
A COVID-19 outbreak was declared at the Pioneer Unit of the Spring Valley Care Centre on Monday as well.
It is not yet known how many people are affected by these outbreaks.
The new incidents add to the COVID-19 outbreaks declared at the Sun Pointe Village on Nov. 8 and the Okanagan Unit of the Village at Mill Creek on Nov. 23, with no numbers provided by Interior Health.
