Power outage at resort

Big White Resort has had to curtail some activities today, but is keeping others going using back-up sources after a power outage

Fortis said it was caused by a tree damaging a power pole just after 8 a.m.

Due to Friday's power outage, the lifts not operating today include the Black Forest & Ridge Chair. Lara's Gondola will run until 4 pm and all lifts will close at 3:30 pm. Skating, tubing, & night skiing are also canceled. For updates, visit our website: https://t.co/vcVJhUA8xe

Fortis expects service at the Kelowna area resort will restored by 10 tonight.
