Snowfall warning issued for Coquihalla Highway

A snowfall warning is in effect for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt Friday (Feb. 3) night.

In an online warning Friday morning, Environment Canada says around 15 centimetres is of snow is expected.

It’s due to a frontal system that will bring heavy snow tonight before it eases early Saturday (Feb. 4) morning.

Drivers are warned that heavy snow can make travel difficult and suddenly reduce visibility.

Environment Canada also says weather in the mountains can change suddenly, and motorists should be prepared to adjust their driving with changing road conditions.
