Two separate stolen truck events lead to arrests
Two men were arrested in separate cases involving stolen trucks in the Kelowna area Wednesday.
Kelowna RCMP was notified of a truck stolen from the 2200 block of Enterprise Way at around 8 a.m. Feb. 8.
Officers located the vehicle and arrested the suspect on Mills Rd.
The suspect was wanted for breaching his conditional sentence order and remanded in custody until his court date.
He was also found to be in possession of stolen identification when taken into custody.
Around the same time as that incident, West Kelowna RCMP observed a stolen truck on Westside Rd.
Officers followed the vehicle and arrested a man when he exited.
The man is suspected of being involved in a failure to stop for police incident on Tuesday, Feb. 7, as well.
The police did not say if the second individual was remanded into custody or released pending a court appearance.
“These two arrests continue to demonstrate the dedication the police have in locating stolen property and returning it to the owners,” Sgt. Desmond Kiehlbauch of the RCMP Proactive Enforcement Unit, said.
“Immediate reporting of the crime and the nice sunny day helped police capture the suspects.”
