Items of ‘significant value’ stolen from gallery
RCMP say some high-value items were stolen from a Kelowna art gallery by several thieves.
Around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, RCMP received a report of a broken glass alarm at a gallery located in the 500 block of Raymer Avenue.
Video surveillance from the gallery showed three unknown men wearing face coverings entering through a broken glass door. Once inside, the video shows the suspects separating and going to four specific locations and taking four statues of “significant value.”
“These types of crimes affect our small business owners who are just trying to survive in these uncertain times and the RCMP will use every investigational tool available to bring these [suspects] to justice,” Const. Mike Della-Paolera, media relations officer, said.
Police are asking anyone who may have been in that area or with dash camera video footage around the time in question, to contact the Kelowna RCMP at (250) 762-3300 and reference file number 2023-10959, or remain anonymous by contacting Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net.
