Fatal crash on highway
One person died in hospital after a crash on Highway 33 east of Kelowna.
RCMP say a Ford Escape SUV with two occupants was westbound on the highway towards Kelowna just after 6 p.m. March 21 when for unknown reasons it crossed the centre line into the oncoming lane.
The SUV collided head on with a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup with two occupants heading eastbound.
“All four occupants were transported to Kelowna hospital with serious injuries. Sadly, once at the hospital, the passenger from the Ford Escape succumbed to their injures and passed away,” Const. James Ward of the BC Highway Patrol stated.
The crash is under investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or have dash-cam video of the collision, or of the road conditions heading into town along Highway 33 at that time, is asked to contact Const. James Ward of the Kelowna BC Highway Patrol at james.ward@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
