For the second time this season, the Kamloops Fire Centre will be subject to a campfire ban.
In a news release, the B.C. Wildfire Service says a prohibition on campfires comes into effect throughout the fire centre on Friday (July 7) at 12:00 noon.
In addition to campfires, the prohibition also covers:
- Fireworks
- Sky Lanterns
- Burn Barrels or Burn Cages of any size or description
- Binary Exploding Targets
- Air curtain burners
- Tiki and similar kind of torches
- Chimineas

The first campfire ban of the season for the Kamloops Fire Centre was instituted on June 8. After some cool, wet days, that prohibition was lifted on June 16.
