Wood creations help people heal from wildfires
Out of disaster, something beautiful can result.
Those are the words of Mark Kemper who turns wood into pieces of art or just functional items for around the house
Kemper, who operates Kemper and Sons Artisan Millworks in Vernon, recently made a table out of wood left over from a property in Falkland during the 2021 fires.
Kemper has a compassionate heart for all those affected by the recent fires.
“Out of disaster, something beautiful can result. More than anything, it is my dream that a table like this, made from the ruins, can provide the potential for healing for those affected deeply by the fires,” Kemper said.
Kemper is looking to hear from people who have lost homes or structures to see if they would like him to create something beautiful from the wood on their property.
“I would love to help others heal and would be happy to create living pieces of art for those that were affected by the fires.”
Mark Kemper can be reached at 250-308-7130.
Kemper has not decided what to do with his first firewood creation, but encourages those that are interested to call him.
