The suspect in a Vernon murder case has pleaded guilty to the lesser charge.
Paige Courteney Howse pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the case of the death of Kelowna’s Alishia Lemp in Vernon Supreme Court Wednesday, Sept. 27.
Howse was facing a second-degree murder charge in relation to the case which saw Lemp’s body discovered in a Vernon motel room in February of 2020.
At her last court appearance in September, Howse’s representation told the court she intended to enter a guilty plea.
Howse was arrested in Surrey in September of 2021 after an 18-month investigation into the death of Lemp. She was granted bail in June of 2022.
Howse is due in court on November 28 to fix a date for the sentencing hearing.
