No changes to drought conditions in Okanagan, Interior
Despite cooler, wetter weather, the drought conditions throughout the Interior, including the Okanagan, were unchanged on a weekly basis.
The B.C. River Forecast Centre reported the Okanagan Basin was still at Drought Level 2 as of Nov. 2, indicating adverse impacts to the socio-economic and ecosystem values due to conditions were unlikely.
The Lower Thompson and North Thompson Basins were also at Level 2.
The Salmon River, South Thompson, Upper Columbia, Lower Columbia, West Kootenay, and Coldwater River Basins were still ranked at Drought Level 3, indicating adverse impacts were possible.
The East Kootenay, Kettle, Similkameen and Nicola Basins were still ranked Level 4, which suggest adverse impacts were likely.
The sole areas ranked at Level 5, which the River Forecast Centre state indicate adverse impacts to the socio-economic and ecosystem values were almost certain, were located in the North Eastern area of the province.
