Man dies in snowmobile incident
A Quebec man died after going missing while snowmobiling near Revelstoke.
RCMP say the 27-year-old was snowmobiling with a group on Boulder Mountain on Saturday, Dec. 2 when he became separated. He was reported missing around 5:40 p.m.
“He had tried to radio to his group his location, however not having GPS or satellite communication, he could not be immediately located,” Cpl. James Grandy, media relations, said.
Revelstoke Search and Rescue were deployed and later found the man in serious medical distress, in a remote and steep area called “Toilet Bowl.”
“Sadly, while the man was being rapidly extracted from the location, his condition worsened and he succumbed to his injuries,” Grandy stated.
The death is not suspicious.
Revelstoke RCMP is working with the BC Coroners Service in the investigation.
