Update: Coquihalla Highway reopens, delays due to congestion

The Coquihalla Highway has reopened in both directions south of Merritt.
DriveBC says motorists should expect delays due to congestion.
Highway 5 was closed for over four hours this morning for a vehicle recovery.
Details of the incident have not yet been released by police.

UPDATE 11:30 a.m.
DriveBC is estimating the Coquihalla Highway could reopen at 12:30 p.m. south of Merritt.
Highway 5 has been closed in both directions 10 km’s south of the turnoff to the Okanagan Connector since around 8 a.m. for a vehicle recovery.

Drivers should expect major delays on Coquihalla Highway
Drivers are being told to expect major delays on the Coquihalla Highway south of Merritt Thursday.
DriveBC reported of a vehicle incident on Highway 5 south of Comstock Road at around 8:15 a.m. Thursday.
Traffic is closed in both directions, and vehicle recovery is underway.
