One person died in a fire at a mobile home park in the South Okanagan Friday morning.
RCMP say Osoyoos Fire Rescue was called to a fire at the Avalon Mobile Home Park on Main Street around 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 19.
Numerous fire crews responded the scene and say the blaze had already engulfed the home.
Once the fire was out, the remains of one person were located inside.
“Although the investigation is ongoing, and the exact cause has yet to be determined, it does not appear suspicious,” Sgt. Jason Bayda, Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional RCMP spokesperson, said.
Bayda said the BC Coroners Service is conducting a fact-finding investigation into the circumstances around the death.
